Mountain goats are the most common animal in Glacier National Park. Known as a super footed animal, mountain goats have incredible climbing abilities. A group of Native Americans called the the Blackfeet controlled the eastern prairies of the mountains. There are about 8,600 members of the Blackfeet Nation, the largest tribe in Montana. George Bird Grinnell was an early explorer to this part of Montana and spent many years working to get the park established. He pushed the national park and made Glacier the 10th national park in the country.
